Why Control Points Are Important

Control points allow operators and dispatchers to manage train movements remotely and with greater precision. They provide information about signal indications, switch positions, route status, alarms, and track occupancy.

Control points also improve traffic flow. By giving operators a clear overview of the interlocking and nearby track, they can make better decisions about route selection, train sequencing, and movement priorities.
